Materials used: Modern blue and turquoise area rugs, blue and grey Sherwin Williams paint, natural stone fire-place custom façade, 31-inch electric fireplace, clear glass desk, hand-painted feathers artwork, modern white and chrome floor lamp, re-furbished red oak hardwood floors. The cool blue walls flanking the fireplace and bright grey palette compliment the natural wood and stone.
Our mandate: This single bachelor wanted to have a warm and inviting home office. We designed the floor plans and concept with a brand-new fireplace wall that was a complete game-changer. At night it creates a warm glow and generates heat in colder winter months. This electric fireplace looks like it has been there forever. The fireplace wall is 100% natural stone in the perfect blend of warm beige and cool grey neutral tones.
We selected a walnut-toned stain for the refinishing of the red oak floor. It is warm and rich. A dynamic blue area rug was chosen for each zone to define the separate areas and to create continuity. They lead the eye right up to the focal-point stone fireplace wall.
The client loves his new functional home-office with the desk right in front of the window view over the Lachine Canal. All in all, this is a fun open space with vibrant blues, grays, wood, stone, light, and personality. He is enjoying it fully as well as his friends and family.
